History
by Gil Hoffman:
The Leakesville Lumber Company was
incorporated at Leakesville, Greene County on May 11, 1906, by J. J. McInnis,
H. E. McInnis, L. Evans and J. J. Croom with authorized capital stock of
$50,000. J. J. McInnis was president and L. Evans, secretary. In October
1908 the Bear Creek Mill Company took over the company's sawmill, but
the Leakesville Lumber Company continued to do the logging.
