Mississippi Great Southern Chapter NRHS

Since 1969, the Mississippi Great Southern Chapter of the National Railroad Historical Society (Chapter 108) has existed to give its members opportunities to grow in their interest in railroading.

Whether it be gathering and preserving railroad historical data, photography, model building or just enjoying hearing the stories of the by-gone days of the railroad, there is something for everyone.

Based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi the MGSC offers fellowship, education, a historical library and outings to help preserve this important part of Mississippi History.

A Yahoo Group serves as a major source of communication between members of the Mississippi Great Southern Chapter of the National Railroad Historical Society.

The chapter also publishes a bi-monthly newsletter called "The Sandhouse" featuring historical articles on area railroading, as well as current news and members' stories and chapter activities.

The chapter typically meets monthly in Hattiesburg on the second Saturday of each month. Anybody is welcome to attend the meetings. You don't have to be a member!
