HISTORY:

The Redmont Railway was formed in 1995 to acquire the former Illinois Central RR line between Corinth, MS and Red Bay, AL from Norfolk Southern RR. Redmont was owned by Sunshine Mills of Red Bay. The track was leased from the Mississippi-Alabama Railroad Authority. In September 2013 the Redmont Railway was sold to the Mississippi Central RR (Pioneer Railcorp) and operated as their Redmont Division.
